Pens in ’09 after having a 2-0 lead in that one as well, suffered perhaps their greatest upset in 2010 when the 33 point underdog Habs beat them. In doing so, Washington becoming the all-time leader in blown 3-1 series leads with their fourth allowed (leaders as well in all-time series blown with 2 game leads at nine). Then in 2011 got swept in the 2nd round by an underdog Bolts team. I challenge anyone to find a hockey team with a more painful record of playoff misery. I feel for Caps fans.

The Caps also blew a 2-0 lead to the Isles in 1985 and got upset by the Rangers in 86. After this they lost to lower-seeded Philly in ’89, Pittsburgh in the Patrick final in ’91, then blew a 3-1 series lead in ’92 to the Pens, got upset by the Isles in ’93, blew another 3-1 lead to the Pens in ’95, blew a 2-0 lead to the Pens in ’96, got upset by the Pens again in 2000 as well as 2001, blew a 2-0 lead to the Lightning in ’03, lost a game 7 OT at home to Philly in ’08, a game 7 at home to the

The NHL still has a great product folks; if you’d just give a chance for once & stop bitching all over Gary Bettman all the time……
